Cbank: Russia’s gold reserves rise 0.8% to 1,944 tns in June

MOSCOW, Jul 20 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gold reserves, part of the country’s international reserves, increased 0.8% in June to 62.5 million troy ounces, or 1,943.97 tonnes, as of July 1, according to data of the central bank seen by PRIME on Friday.

The value of gold reserves fell 2.91% to U.S. $78.167 billion as of July 1. The share of gold in Russia’s foreign exchange and gold reserves decreased to 17.11% from 17.63%.

International, or foreign exchange and gold reserves, include monetary gold, Special Drawing Rights (the International Monetary Fund’s currency) and foreign currency.
